OUR STORY

The Power to Methanol project in Antwerp shows in a very practical and innovative way the importance of industrial symbiosis as part of the energy transition pathway.

The formal continuation of the Power to Methanol project in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges confirms the conviction of this group of cross-industrial players to pursue our cooperation.

The project shows in a very practical and innovative way the importance of industrial symbiosis as part of the energy transition pathway. The different partners have the ambition to advance the energy transition and to strengthen their presence in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges not only for the business of today but also for that of tomorrow.

LEARNING BY DOING

The Power to Methanol project will:

  • Illustrate how process efficiency copes with operational flexibility.

  • Show that synergy with industrial waste streams can increase viability.

  • Prove how flexibility can lead to possibility.

USING ENERGY MARKET FLEXIBILITY TO MITIGATE ENERGY COSTS

Within the RED II fuel framework, the project focusses on producing renewable fuels of non biological origin and fuels based on captured CO2.

We aim to show how CCU-based-molecules can enable transition in energy, chemistry and fuels.

Power to Methanol Antwerp is a CCU fuel lighthouse project and is in support of climate action plans.
